March's Update
March’s Community Service Hours: 9 hours Cumulative Hours: 15 hours This month I was able to volunteer 5 hours with Maysen for Heroes of New Orleans. They hosted their 2nd Annual Race for a Cause Go-Kart Festival on Saturday, March 21, 2026. Basically, it was a huge event where donors' money supported stipend-paid programs that empower at-risk youth and underserved families in the Greater New Orleans area. They provided entertainment, had the ability to go-kart, provided food, and had lots of cool activities for the donors to do. I was stationed at the reception desk, where I manually input all the racers' names into the system to keep track of all the different races and racers. This month I also volunteered with Westin at the Green Project for 4 hours. As I mentioned in a previous blog, they receive lots of used hardware-type materials and sell them back to the community at affordable prices.
